Catholic nuns from the Monastic Family of Bethlehem hug and kiss one another as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ during an Easter mass held in many languages in their church in Beit Gemal, late on 11 April 2009 . The monastery of some 40 nuns and about 20 monks celebrated Christ's resurrection as one of the happiest days of the year and the only time that the nuns are allowed to touch and kiss each other. The Family of Bethlehem was founded in 1950 in Saint Peter's Square in Vatican City when Pope Pius XII proclaimed the dogma of the Assumption of the Virgin, and was consecrated by Pope John Paul II in 1998.
