Police officers stand outside Woodhull Hospital as the bodies of two Police officers who were shot in Brooklyn are removed from the hospital in New York, New York, USA, 20 December 2014. Two New York police officers were killed when they were shot in their patrol car on 20 December 2014, officials said. The perpetrator fired his gun several times through the car window, Police Commissioner William Bratton said. The assailant then fled into a nearby subway station in Brooklyn, where he was pursued by other police officers and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The officers, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, died in hospital. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said the two men were shot 'execution style.' EPA/JOHN TAGGART
