The epa management would like to inform that there is the following opening, we are looking to recruit:

 

MANAGING EDITOR (m/f/d)

 

Duties:

  • Leading daily coverage and edition workflow
  • Planning, scheduling and organizing editorial and non editorial coverage by epa visual journalists and contributors
  • Identify and address problems in real time together with the rest of members of the Editorial Management Team
  • Ensuring compliance with epa’s policies, style and quality standard
  • Monitoring of daily events and reacting to breaking news needs
  • Quality control and follow up of daily production and editorial operation
  • Give feedback to photographers and editors about their performance
  • Analysis and optimization of shareholder and suppliers’ production
  • Implement any other editorial task assigned by the Editor in Chief including special projects
  • Produce tailored presentations for editorial & marketing purposes
  • Implement EPA editorial policies under the direction of the Editor in Chief ensuring a constant optimization and development of the general editorial operation in coordination with the other members of the editorial management
  • Special projects as assigned by the President & CEO or the person he designates and as compatible with the major tasks

Requirements:

  • A managing editor is a professional always updated on the latest news and tendencies of the news market whether legal, professional or commercial
  • Flexibility and the willingness to work 24/7
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Qualifications:

  • Degree in journalism, photography, communication, e.g. Senior Picture Editor/Photographer/Videographer experience with managing responsibilities
  • In-depth knowledge of the Media and Editorial business
  • Large experience in news coverage on the field and editing photos, video editing skills are a plus
  • Good understanding of the visual content market
  • Proficient in English and German
  • Team spirit
  • Negotiation and organizational skills
  • Good computer skills

  • Outstanding photographic and video graphic skills
  • Experience in an international news agency

EDITOR (m/f/d)

 

Duties

 

  • Ensuring an optimal flow of photos to the network
  • Working closely within the team to monitor and help improve the overall quality of the picture service from a journalistic, graphic and commercial quality point of view
  • Ensuring smooth running of the daily operation in close cooperation with all other editors
  • Editing and captioning of photo material produced by our staff photographers and supplying agencies
  • Monitoring of news sources – be it TV, newspapers, internet and reacting on news stories to alert photographers on the ground where coverage is of interest to our service -following the Editorial Management instructions
  • Story research and briefing of photographers -following the Editorial Management instructions-
  • Producing the play and production report
  • Guiding the Junior Editors in their daily work
  • Training of apprentices and interns
  • Going on assignments as judged fit by the Editor in Chief and the editorial management team

 

Requirements

  • Photo-journalistic experience for minimum two years
  • Intimate knowledge of current news and events
  • Excellent news sense and communication skills
  • Profound knowledge of new media
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of German and/or other languages would be considered a plus
  • Team spirit
  • Willingness to work in shifts (incl. night shifts and weekends)
  • Good computer skills (Photoshop, Microsoft Office)

MANAGER MARKETING & COMMUNICATION (m/f/d)

The European Pressphoto Agency, a global visual content provider with headquarters in Frankfurt, is seeking an experienced Marketing & Communication manager to support its market expansion. The successful candidate will develop and deliver creative marketing and communication strategies and plans to support the company rebranding and increase digital brand awareness at a very exciting period of transformation for the company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a results-driven, multi-platform communications strategy and plan in line with corporate and brand direction
  • Spot new marketing opportunities and carry out marketing initiatives
  • Create and maintain consistent corporate brand message, across product lines, events, and marketing collateral
  • Lead the planning and implementation of PR communications and initiatives

  • Experience with NFTs would be a plus
  • Experience working on digital marketing campaigns
  • Familiar with B2B and B2C marketing campaigns
  • Native English language and business proficiency in German language. Other languages would be an asset
  • A strong network of PR and media contacts would be highly advantageous

Senior IT Systemadministrator (m/f/d)

Full-time

 

The candidacy is open to professionals with profound knowledge in visual journalism and the industry.

Tasks:

  • IT Support to epa’s team worldwide and in the Frankfurt HQ
  • Administration of Linux servers and virtual environment using VMWARE
  • Setting up automated tasks using Ansible
  • IT related projects and assignments, e.g. implementation of workflows and automatization
  • System and network administration
  • Maintaining IT security and data protection
  • Backup and disaster recovery using Veeam
  • Maintaining training material and conducting training sessions for end-users
  • Perform 24/7 on call duty one week per month

Qualification:

  • Work experience for a minimum of 5 years in IT
  • Knowledge of heterogeneous system and network environments
  • At least one certification as CCNA/MCSA or similar
