Idrees Mohammed is an epa photographer based in Chennai, covering the Southern part of India. After doing a diploma in photojournalism from Udaan School of Photography, Idrees has started his career with the daily newspaper Times of India and has worked for various national and international news agencies before joining epa in 2021.

The Tamil Nadu state government along with Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has set up over 900 bed COVID-19 care facility for people affected by coronavirus disease at the Chennai Trade Centre (CTC) following a sharp surge in COVID-19 and Omicron variant of the Sars-Cov-2 virus across the state of Tamil Nadu. Within a week, authorities had shifted as many as 400 patients to the COVID-19 care facilities in the city.
