Mast Irham was born in Solo, Central Java province, Indonesia on 02 February 1979. He began as a photojournalist in the Media Indonesia newspaper in 2003.
In 2004 he was selected as one of the participants for a photojournalism workshop organized by the World Press Photo and the Asian European Foundation in Hanoi, Vietnam. That same year Mast joined epa european pressphoto agency as a staff photographer.
For more than 10 years working as a photojournalist, he has done both local and international coverages, such as Tsunami disaster in Aceh, Bali bombing, major demonstrations in Bangkok, the release of Aung San Suu Kyi in Myanmar, FIFA World Cup and Australian Open tennis tournament.
With some other photographers he released a photo book called 'NESW' in 2014.
Mast is now epa Chief Photographer for Indonesia based in Jakarta.
